Bringing Global Craftsmanship to Spokane
Doug and Tyson embarked on an incredible buying trip to Brazil from March 27th to April 4th, 2025. Their mission was to personally select natural stone slabs for Northwest Trends new Fabrication Shop Stocking program.
This trip ensured that every piece brought back reflects the exceptional standards that define Northwest Trends.
A Journey Through Brazil’s Stone Industry
Over the course of the trip, they purchased more than 200 stunning slabs, ensuring that our customers will have access to some of the finest materials available anywhere in the world. Each piece was hand-picked for its unique beauty, durability, and character. Brazil is known worldwide for its incredible variety of natural stones.
- Brazilian Quartzite is prized for its strength and dramatic veining.
- Brazilian Granite is valued for its rich tones and durability.
- Brazilian Marble add timeless elegance to any space.
Together, these materials make Brazil a global leader in stone production.
One of the highlights of the adventure was a tour of the cutting and polishing facilities.
“Seeing the artistry and precision that goes into preparing each slab gave us a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship behind the materials used every day at Northwest Trends. Every detail from the initial cut to the final polish was handled with remarkable care and expertise.”
From Quarry to Countertop
Perhaps the most awe-inspiring part of the trip was visiting a quarry and witnessing the extraction process firsthand. They watched as massive stone blocks were carefully cut and lifted from the mountain. It was both humbling and fascinating.
“It’s incredible to see the raw beginnings of materials that will become elegant countertops, walls, and showers in our clients’ homes.”
A Taste of Brazil
Of course, no trip to Brazil would be complete without taking in a bit of its vibrant culture. They wrapped up our journey with a few unforgettable days in Rio de Janeiro. This trip was both productive and inspiring, reaffirming their commitment to sourcing only the best for Northwest Trend’s customers. They can’t wait to share these hand-selected slabs with our Spokane community.
Stay tuned for updates and photos as these incredible materials make their way into our Fabrication Shop and onto the next stunning Northwest Trends installations!
