Classic Elegance on Lake Coeur d’Alene
Perched along the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, this newly built home blends timeless craftsmanship with modern comfort. The home was constructed by Jim Thompson Homes and interiors were designed by Karen Silva at Northwest Trends. The residence captures the natural beauty of North Idaho while showcasing refined architectural details throughout.
Completed in 2024 after years of planning and construction through the challenges of the Covid era, the result is a seamless collaboration of design and function. Every space—from the inviting dining area to the serene bathrooms—reflects thoughtful detailing and craftsmanship.
Products Used to Create this Look
The product selection process took months, with every detail carefully curated to achieve a cohesive look and feel. Materials include tiles from Lunada Bay, Casablanca marble from Florida Tile, and selections from Daltile, Bedrosians, and Masonry Center. Each element was chosen to complement the home’s natural setting while maintaining an air of understated luxury.
The interior exudes classic elegance, from the moment you enter the great room with its light-colored Echo Ridge hardwood floors that reflect both sunlight and lake views streaming through the large picture windows. Exposed timber beams lend a rugged Northwest charm, creating a balance between sophistication and warmth.
Highlights
A personal highlight of the project was the custom iron rail systems, designed by Karen Silva, for both the interior staircase and exterior balconies, along with the lighting and woodwork design that tie the entire aesthetic together. The result is a home that feels timeless, comfortable, and unmistakably connected to its lakeside surroundings.
One of the home’s most enchanting features is the stone-framed wine cellar door, reminiscent of an old English castle. In the office, a hidden room concealed behind a bookshelf adds a sense of intrigue and craftsmanship that makes this home truly one of a kind.
